Who we are
Unpack is a web-based CBT journaling app. Contact us at hello@unpackapp.app.
What we collect
- Account info — your email and optional display name.
- Journal entries — stored securely and only accessible by you.
- Payment info — handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- Usage data — pages visited and feature usage to improve the app.
AI processing
When you use the AI reflection feature, your journal entry is sent to Anthropic to generate a CBT analysis. We do not use your content to train AI models.
How we use your data
- To provide the Unpack service
- To generate AI-powered CBT reflections
- To manage your account and subscription
- To send transactional emails (confirmation, password reset)
We do not sell your data. We do not share your journal entries with third parties for advertising or any commercial purpose.
Data security
Your data is stored in Supabase on AWS infrastructure, encrypted at rest and in transit. Row Level Security ensures only your account can access your entries.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days.
Third-party services
We use Supabase (database), Anthropic (AI), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting). We do not use advertising trackers or analytics platforms.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@unpackapp.app.
Not a substitute for professional care
Unpack is a journaling tool, not a licensed therapy service. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis line.
